Commit The Keeping Of Your Soul

1 Peter 4:19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

I trust you won’t be offended by my comparing the way a bank functions to the way the Lord functions. A bank has no obligation to keep funds for you that you have not deposited in that bank. They will only keep funds for you that you have committed to them. The Lord has no obligation to keep anything you have not committed to Him. If, for instance, you have not surrendered and committed your body, yourself and your life to Him, He is under no obligation to keep them.

2 Timothy 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 Who are KEPT BY THE POWER OF GOD through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Faith makes a commitment to the Lord. Unbelief does not.
